Phew – this project took a while, and we encountered some ‘adversity’ along the way. Such can be the case when creating and printing 120 M2 of custom wall vinyl decals. Certain areas of the building were quite tricky to finish but the team waded right in and got it done – we’re really proud of the results.
The 48 panels of wall sticker artwork cover the whole bottom floor of Raise Education & Wellbeing School in Great Lever, Bolton. In addition to the wall decals design, we did all the measuring-up and copy-writing/editing too.
We’ve worked with Raise the Youth Foundation since their inception in 2011 so we’re aligned with their history, mission and service delivery frameworks. This meant that we had access to much of the already-written copy but it needed collating into a logical format for display on the walls.
Working closely with the senior leadership team, we opted for a brochure-style design in the reception area and, for the rest of the floor, positivity and wellbeing concepts focused on young people.
Despite the sheer amount of content available we were mindful to avoid cluttered layouts. Young people with ASD and other conditions can struggle when viewing complex patterns and busy designs so we kept the colour palette to a minimum and used our favourite sans to keep type very readable.
